An English Country Estate Ceremony at Somerley House

A collaborative atelier by Stories from Eros, Attabara Studio & Paula Rooney Floral designer

This collaboration between Stories from Eros, Attabara Studio and Paula Rooney Floral Designer was nothing short of English country wedding perfection. Paula and her team (see credits below) created full and luscious installations that included an abundance in variety of flowers including roses, hydrangeas, and lush foliage. Bride Laura wore a custom couture gown by Wilden London that highlighted vintage motifs including bell sleeves, delicate lace and a statement bow. Everything about the day was quintessentially English and it was a pleasure to shoot and collaborate with such fantastic wedding professionals,

Somerley House is a beautiful Georgian country house located on the edge of The New Forest in Hampshire, England. It is located within acres of luscious green land and is famous for hosting grandeur weddings and events, as well as being the filming location for parts of Netflix’s ‘The Crown’ and ‘Bridgerton’.

The moment a couple see each other for the first time on their wedding day is such a special moment that I love to capture. You can feel the excitement and nerves through the images and strong emotion is always evoked when observing these photographs. I love to capture different angles of this moment, which is usually achieved by having a team of two photographers to cover all bases and both reactions.

The exchange of vows and rings took place in the most gorgeous setting within the Somerley grounds. 7000 acres of woodland, landscape and gardens make for a stunning backdrop that melts into the skyline and frames the gorgeous Georgian architecture so beautifully.

After the exchange of vows and rings, Jack and Laura shared their first kiss as husband and wife and make their way back down they aisle, framed by cascades of flowers and the East side of the main house.

Post-ceremony is the perfect time to whisk away for some beautiful couple portraits, I usually only need a few minutes to get some gorgeous shots in the bag so you can relax and mingle with your guests whilst knowing you have some precious moments as a newly married couple! I always love to utilise the floristry and backdrop of the venue you have chosen. It will assist in transporting you back to the day when you look at your gallery for years to come.

I love to capture the details of your day. I take pride in being aware of the significance of the intricate parts that not everyone may notice, but that may be important to you. Any moment or element to your day that holds emotional significance I will include in your gallery as part of the story my imagery will tell of your special day.
